Many thanks for your advice. I did unsolder the components you listed, but finally I discovered that the pigtail coax cable was defective, once I replaced it I got a very reliable reception. Many thanks for the suggestions! I have actually looked into using ACS712 for a 2-phase heater, for all the 1-phase devices it is simpler to just use a wall plug with energy meter.
