What has not yet become clear to me from reading the manual is:
I assume to function properly, I need a 24/7 connection to Z-Cloud. I do not want my PC to run 24/7, so once I am comfortable with the setup under Windows, I would like to move the Z-connector to my Synology NAS. Is it possible for the Linux client to connect and logon automatically and use the WEBbrowser from the PC to oversee the control panel whenever I feel the need?
Run client software on Synology NAS?

Z-Connector is available for
Z-Connector is available for Linux. There is also Run_Z-Agent.sh script to maintain connection persistantly. You don't need to connect with a web browser to be connected. Only Z-Connector is needed to keep your Z-Cloud instance running.Of course to control your device you need to connect via web browser, but you can do it from any other computer provided you know the user name and password.See the picture on the bottom on this page for more details. Note, that on the picture web browser can be far from your USB Z-Wave dongle.
Thanks for this reassuring
