I have the RaZberry open to the internet so that I can control it thru my iPhone from anywhere, this was fine while I was just controlling my lights, but now I have added a kwikset deadbolt and I'm afraid this is a huge hole in security.
I need a way to encrypt the connection, password protect the files, or only allow connection from certain devices.
My first first instinct was .htaccess but this is not supported by the built-in server
.htaccess or alike
We are thinking of
We are thinking of implementing HTTPS with authentication. But now we see that a much better and flexible solution is to use ngnix proxying to make it work passwordless locally only and encrypted and authenticated via ngnix. Z-Way is home automation s/w and flexible security should be implemented as a ceparate tool.
This is not the final decision yet.
