Z-Wave Plus

Post by Mike Yeager »

This is probably a question that has been asked but I didn't see it. Does Razberry support any of the Z-Wave Plus stuff? I don't see a lot of it out there yet but I'd hate to grab a device and not be able to use it...

Yes, the new gen 5 RaZberry fully supports Z-Wave Plus.
Old gen 3 RaZberry partially supports it (shorter distance, no power level tests) with 2.0 software.

How do I know wgat version of the Razberry I have and by 2.0 software I am assuming you are referring to the software that runs on the RPi.

Amazon is dumping the old stuff still, only buy if the description say version 5.

:) A couple of days ago I bought from Amazon the razberry card and in its description was not reported the item version.
When the card will arrive, how can I check if it is version 5?

I read what pz1 wrote (the link posted doesn't work for me), but I didn't understand what to do since I'm new to Z-wave technology and to this forum. Be patient with me :)

I only works if you have
  • Physically installed the RaZberry or UZB1
  • Installed Z-Wave binding via the HA user Interface

you have to build your Pi, download and install the image and on your sd card. when you first boot, do plug it into a monitor and keyboard as it will display your Pi's ip address on your lan. the default user is Pi, and password is raspberry. update the distribution with apt-get do upgrade and update, then update the zwave software.

the link provided above is the ip address of you Pi.

here is the image and software info...

:) I got my RaZberry card and I am confident that it mounts the new wave transceiver "Sigma Design ZM5202" as reported on the specification data shit.
