Any suggestions on how to further debug this device?

The Z-way devs are in Europe, so they've never seen this US market product. Someone needs to generously donate one, then they might investigate...

Oh? I'll send them one if that can get it fixed.

I'd be willing to split the cost with you to purchase one and have it shipped to a dev. I know they aren't exactly that expensive, but since we're both working on it, it only seems fair.

If the devs agree to look at this product, I'll go in as well to make it 1/3rd. I'd love to put these throughout the house to fix the mix and match of regular Smoke and CO sensors I have.

In addition to all this I've continued to do a little digging. I found a Google Groups topic on this exact issue: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic ... vCiIM-TeYs

This thread is regarding OpenHAB, but I believe they discover that the ZCOMBO device doesn't support the WakeUp command class.

I have been playing with other softwares - HomeGenie specifically and it seems to be correct. HomeGenie will complete the interview, but once the device enters deep sleep (about 15 seconds after power up), it will not respond to any queries from the Z-Wave controller.

There must be a way around it though, the product is part of the Lowes iris ecosystem, so it must be usable there?

From the linked discussion it sounds like once interview is complete (and it does not support WAKEUP), it goes into a send-only mode and won't respond to any commands?

I can kind of understand the manufacturers reasoning here. It really only needs to send updates to the controller. If it goes off, one can use the status update to flash lights, trigger other events, etc.

It would have been nice to be able to have the alarm go off in the event that a door or window sensor is triggered under a certain condition, but I'm not that hung up about it!

So, I guess we should work out how we should get one of these devices to the devs so they can work to resolve the interview issue. I haven't a clue where to being on that :)

Bumping as 'Basic' interview still fails under 2.2.2.
