+1 for echo support. I have some very very basic support configured where I have a ruby app that calls the appropriate zway api for certain commands.


https://developer.amazon.com/public/sol ... skills-kit describes the interface. It should be possible to get to the point where you can say 'Alexa, tell Zway to turn on $SceneName'.

My current very simple app lets me say 'Alexa, tell My House I am leaving' and my locks click shut / lights go off after a 2 minute delay, but its not implemented in a generic manner.

Why is Amazon so keen to have access to what I say to my system?

I don't think I follow. The Echo sends the audio to Amazon for parsing rather then locally.
