Thermostats randomly changing temperatures

Post by jrn »

Hi,

I'm encountering a strange issue: Checking the events tab I see a lot of random temperature changes throughout the day or night that I haven't done. Sometimes the temperature is set higher up to 800C or lower e.g. -13.5C. I can't not see any pattern why this would happen. The only pattern that I can see often but not all the time is that five minutes later the temperature is set back to 'normal' aka the previous temperature that I set. Sometimes the temperature isn't set back to the previous entered state for hours though.
However the time when the temperature changes is totally random. It can be in the middle of the night or at some point during the day.

I'm using Danfoss LC-13 thermostats with my RaZberry.

Do you have any ideas what might cause this behavior?

Thanks a lot for your help,

Maybe it depends on a bad connection. You may check your connection in the ExpertUI. Have you changed some devices/device positions - then you should also doing a reorganization of the network - don't forget to wake up your battery powered devices - at least this LC13.

Thank you for your reply AlphaX2.
So I went into the ExpertUI and started the Network-Reorganisation with Battery operated devices checked.

However, I get the following error message

Code: Select all

reorg_reorg 5 1. reorg_retry ...... reorg_timeout
Do I somehow have to wake up the devices first before I do the reorganisation?

What exactly does this reorganisation do? I mean what it is for?

A developer said somewhere that reorganise is unreliable and should not be used.

The problem persists even after reorganizing the network :(

What you see in "Network" -> "Routing" and "Network" - "Timing Info" ?

All is ok here?

Hi michap,

Thank you very much for your response.

Last should be updated - all "red" can not be ;)

At timing info you see that one device have real connection problems - a lot of communication failed.

So I think you need to optimize the network - add any main powered device or repeater between your controller and device.
Or put controller at other (better) place.

Best regards

Thank you for your fast reply Michael!

I'll purchase a z-wave repeater and put it in the other room but first I'll try to move razberry around a bit. The device that's making trouble (63% OK) is in the next room but the furthest away. I guess the walls of my apartment are too thick haha

What are do the red dots indicate in the first picture? The first device is my razberry all others are battery powered thermostats. Clicking on UPDATE doesn't change anything. The date turns red, that's all :(

Routing table:
http://razberry.z-wave.me/docs/zwayDev.pdf page 26 - here is described ;)

It will be updated then after device wake-up
