Re: Question about "Link other Z-Way controller"
I use it and it does work. In my case I have six Z-Way systems; five with Z-Wave devices and the sixth that combines all of the devices and this is what Home Assistant polls. You do not need a dedicated system, I just went this route. For simplistic reasons I will just detail how it works with two s...

Re: Z-Wave.Me future (discussion)
You can run Z-Way as an add-on in Home Assistant. That is what I do. So Z-Way just feeds into Home Assistant via the integration. For me, when the 900 series is released is when I will need to revisit the setup. You never know, by then the new employer PoltoS has might have some offering. From the f...

Re: Z-Wave.Me future (discussion)
Z-Way will continue to work, you won't have the remote access via the app though. In my case, this is not important as Z-Way is just feeding into Home Assistant. I have remote access to Home Assistant via Cloudflare using the Home Assistant app. Z-Way is stable and runs as a docker on Home Assistant...

Re: Z-Wave.Me future (discussion)
I was not able to do a restore from standalone Z-Way to the Add-On version. If you're not using any rules and such or care about the rules, the devices will be rediscovered as the controller still knows of them. The issue I ran into, after a restore the controller was no longer visible even though i...

Re: Change of controller role
Make sure the Razberry board has the latest firmware updates. My spare is at the current firmware level.

Re: Change of controller role
My preferred route of things....have backups and have spare Razberry cards. I do not have have secondary controllers at all in my network as there is no need for them. If a system fails, I have a spare ready to go with a Razberry board already in it. I do run Z-Way as a add-on to HA and can restore ...

Re: cant update z-station firmware or bootloader.
In addition, @PoltoS could disable public access to github Z-Wave.me repositories. As for alternatives, I've experimented with a few different options and found Home Assistant to be the best alternative for my needs, followed by OpenHAB. Both of these options are much more resource intensive than Z...

Re: cant update z-station firmware or bootloader.
I'm guessing the downward spiral accelerated a few months ago when the 700-series chipsets used by Z-Wave.Me were deprecated by Silicon Labs for their 800-series chipsets. If Z-Wave.Me was a healthy company, I think they would have introduced 800-series based products. Time will tell. There was a 6...
