Z-Wave.Me USB StickC on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

Post by skiv71 »

Hi,

I currently use Z-way on a RPI with the razberry and i'm looking at other options to use the Z-way system.

Can i install z-way-server on ubuntu 10.04 LTS and connect the above USB dongle to achieve the same result?

Thanks

IIRC, you will need ZME_ZWAYW, not ZME_StickC. The latter does not work with the software.

See this page http://razberry.zwave.me/index.php?id=28 for platform requirements

i've seen this...

http://www.vesternet.com/z-wave-me-usb- ... with-z-way

and this...

http://www.vesternet.com/z-wave-me-usb-stickc

I assumed the first one was just inclusive of some software (windows based).

Yes, you need to have the more expensive one. I guess that stick has some signature that qualifies you as a user of the Z-Way software. IIRC, it was initially marketed for Windows, but now there are some sources for others as well. (See: http://razberry.z-wave.me/z-way-server/)
I vaguely remember there was more written about it in some other thread. Try the search.
