Aeotec Heavy Duty Switch

Post by PeterClaydon »

I have bought one of these 40 Amp dual-pole switches. Does anyone else have any experience with these? I have done inclusion/exclusion about 10 times. Most times the interview is not done at all as part of inclusion. On two occasions the interview for the SwitchBinary command class was done, but not on the other command classes. It's possible to force interviews individually on each command class, but I'm using this in a system that will be installed in many locations with our own front-end to Z-Way, so that would be very inconvenient. Of course, it could be a fault with the particular device I have ... ?

Try opening Command Queue and see if the packets are actually delivered to device. This could be range issue, so you probably need to place devices closer to controller or use range extenders.

Thanks pofs. Your reply was helpful. The device was actually about 30 cm away from the controller when I was trying to include it. I found that the packets were not being delivered. I tried moving the device about 2 metres away and it's a lot more robust (actually completed the interview on 4 out of 5 tries). So the problem was not being too far away from the controller, but must have been related to the local RF environment. The controller is next to a metal-framed window, which may be related.
