Aeotec Wallmot with Fibaro Dimmer 2

Hi

I'm new to the smart home world and the z-wave world. I've managed to get a few things working but don't really got the hang of it how it all really works.

Now I have a Aeotec Wallmote Quad and a Fibaro Dimmer 2. They both work. I created a "rule" which says if I press button 1 (10) on the Wallmote, then the Fibaro Dimmer 2 turns on at level 50. If I press button 2 (20) on the Wallmote the Dimmer turns off.

But I'm pretty sure that's not the way it's meant to work. How can I "dimm" on the wallmote? How does it work exactly with those associations?

Can I turn on a "scene" when pressing a particular button on the wallmote?

In this situation try to use Associations. Wallmote has 9 associations group. First group is reserved to send messages to your controller. 2,3 groups for first button, 4,5 groups for second and so on.
For example - configuring first button:
2nd group used to control simple relay switch (on/off mode only), 3rd group is used to control dimmers like fibaro dimmer. So, you add your fibaro dimmer to 3d group and the first button start controlling your dimmer. It means that you tap the button to on/of dimmer and hold to change level.

Thank you very much. It makes sense now and after a few issues in adding the Wallmote as "secure", I managed to set the association and it works great!
