Battery polling

Post by Vovven »

After upgrading to 4.1 I had a look at the events in UI.
It showed battery polling occurring more or less continously.
The loop time for hitting the same device again is 5 minutes.
The battery polling app is set to once a week.
I can't say for sure if this happened because of the upgrade or if this behavior has been there for a while.
Is this normal in 4.1?
Any ideas?

We added this notification in v4.1.0. Some devices (like Danfoss) are always reporting the battery every 5 minutes.

I really don't see what value it adds to flood the event history with this new notification.
What is the logic behind this change?

Some customers wanted this notification (their devices send rare battery reports)

Would you like us to allow filtering this type of reports?

Implementing some type of filtering would be helpful.
Preferably a switch to disable battery polling from creating an event.

Add me to Filtered Preference.
I still don't see how a device that only wakes up every 20 minutes.
can have a new report every 5 minutes.
