When I pair a new device, it does not create the virtual device for that device until the z-way software is restarted. In particular, I am listening the event 'metricUpdated', but this event is not generated for paired devices until Z-Way restarts and the list of virtual devices is created again.

I there a mechanism to refresh the virtual devices without restarting the Z-way?

We have rewritten all the code to do it in live, so new vDevs would be created upon interview complete. So, just wait for the next version.

Thanks for the info. I will wait for the next release, then. Is there any estimate on when it will be available for testing?
