General distance between razberry and z-wave device

Hi all,
I received my razberry and a POPP plug-in dimmer some days ago.
I would like to know from your experiences:
1) How much distance may there in between the z-berry and z-wave device(s)? I read s.th. about 10 meters inside... Can you confirm that?
2) Is it a normal behavior, that I cannot transmit over a distance of around 4 meters into another room, if there is a wall between (no "eye-contact", but open door)?
