Hi,
I tried to search the forum but found no reference of such a question, sorry if I am repeating.

I am trying to set up a multiple-frequency network; one that will have some devices on US and some devices on EU frequency. For the legal part, and to avoid people telling me 'just solve it by using only one frequency' lets assume I live on an island that is exactly mid-way between the two continents.

Could I theoretically add two Z-wave modules to one Rasp and relay messages between them?

• I am not aware of any controller hardware that is dual frequency.
• You can have two Raspberry installations on different frequencies. The software does allow that one controls the other and vice versa. (I do have a remote control that switches a light on an installation in an adjacent building)
• I think technically, you can add two dongles with different frequencies each having its own frequency and its own Z-Wave stack, but only one of them is primary controller. I can't tell you what consequences that has.

Depending on your jurisdiction it may be illegal to operate on one of the frequencies.

Having two dongles controlled by one software is possible, and both of them don't even need to be in one network (so each of them can be primary controller in its own network). Devices from both networks will be consolidated in software, so you won't feel any difference.
