Debian (Jessie) with UZB (Not on raspberry pi)

Hi folks,

I've got a normal server machine (not a raspberry) running a clean basic install of Debian 8 (Jessie). I purchased the UZB usb stick with license.

I downloaded the debian 2.1.1 and unzipped it. Installed all the dependencies and fixed missing libarchive by linking from libarchive13 to 12. Now the z-way-server process will start and I can get to the web interface at 8083 however if I try to start inclusion the JS console gets this:

Code: Select all

GET http://192.168.50.25:8083/ZWaveAPI/Run/controller.AddNodeToNetwork(1) 500 (Internal Server Error)
Looking at the process output from z-way-server there are no errors being output when this happens in the JS console... it's just as if the ZWaveAPI won't let inclusion start.

In expert mode I go into Configuration and can see the Static PC Controller but it says "device interview stage is not complete".

Does anyone know how I can get this to work?

I used to have this working on Ubuntu with this exact UZB stick (cannot remember how I set it up though) and after wiping the server and installing latest Debian I cannot get it working :(

Further to this I've now installed Ubuntu 10.04 and found that all the versions EXCEPT 2.0.1 fail.

Version 2.0.1 works. I've written a howto for anyone else struggling to get a manual installation working:

So my question now is... what is different about 2.0.1 and have I got an out-of-date firmware or something on my UZB stick?

So further to my issues with versions other than 2.0.1 I started a new thread here: viewtopic.php?f=3419&t=22427

This details what I did to solve this.

Need log, but I think you have no license loaded in UZB. with 2.0.1 it worked in limited way
