where are the user data stored?

I messed up badly my raspberry on which the my zway install is running.
At this point my best option would be to do clean install of the whole system, but I would like to restore my zway setup.
I have the backups created during the zway upgrade, these seem to be a complete copy of the /etc/zway-server/ folder.
Would it be possible to make a clean install and then manually recover the user specific settings from the given backups?
Could anyone make a list where the settings are stored?
