Hi

I have a UZB stick with version 5.19 runs on RPI, I was thinking to manually update it, but the instructions here https://z-wave.me/zmeserialupdater-manual/ aren't clear enough for me.

what is the correct procedure, and should I even risk it? can I brick it?
Is there significant improvements between the versions?

This is my stick info:

Code: Select all

          SERIAL INFO
                 VERSION: 05 19 VENDOR: 01 15

          ZME_CAPABILITIES
                  VENDOR: 00 00 NODES: FF
                   FLAGS: 05 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00

          FIRMWARE CRC
BOOT: BB BB FW: 42 71
          MISC
                    FREQ: EU
Thanks,
Eli

Do you mean I need to install zway on the rpi, or there is way to do it with openhabian?

I see, thanks.

Is there significant improvements between the versions, should I bother with the update?

Well, some cool things about routing - yes. But this is only for large/huge networks. In smaller you don't care.

If you are using Z-Way, you will get many cool features like network analytics and routing map - this is definitelly worth upgrading!
