Does controller instance assignment make a difference ?

Hi,
When assigning the lifelife of a device to the controller, I have the choice between "plain association" instance or instance "1 till 16".
What are these instances for ? does it make a difference to which I assign them ?
My controller is UZB stick.

Best is to use 0 (the default Z-Way does). 1-16 are for legacy devices

Ok , thanks Poltos. I see on quite some devices this configuration, so that is all wrong ? (and should only be lifeline reporting to instance "0" ?)

Strange that Z-Way did that. If it is a Z-Wave Plus device, it should do only first group with 205.0.
May be it is some early Z-Wave Plus device with wrong description of Z-Wave Plus or it was done in older versions of Z-Way. Force interview and check what it does now

Ok, I now reconfigured devices that had this wrong and indeed, with 205.0 on the lifeline, everything is working fine.. good status updates everywhere
