Any idea when releasing a new version for Ubuntu ? And what's the release note of 3.1.2 ?

It is still on tests on RPi and Hub platforms. Will be released within few days for other platforms.
The changelog is big. Will be published on the day of the release.

Don't remember.. when upgrading using dpkg command, does I need to backup something before or the DEB package contain no config ?

No, you don't. But it is always agood practice to make backups before upgrades!
