MQTT on Windows PC

Post by zwaFisher »

Hi.
Having problem with MQTT which I posted here in few places. Didn't have much support from Zwave.me team but I could understand this as the module was developed by independent person. Problem is that since 2018 it was not supported by him either. https://github.com/Edubits/Zway-MQTT/issues

Well. Here is a question. Has anyone had any luck with MQTT module on Windows PC?
If you could share your configuration: Windows version, version of MQTT? Assuming the latest z-way.

I have a strong feeling that mqtt only works on rasperry. True or not?
To be honest, without mqtt z-way is loosing a lot.

What are you using mqtt for ? To connect to what?
Maybe you can consider start using node-red, makes you a lot more flexible, and also has mqtt if you like.

What am I using it for? For everything outside zwave.
Nodered is flexible to that extend that it becomes a pain to configure.
Zway could be that easy to use and setup option where you dont need to spend to much time on it. But... but mqtt is sucking.

Please note that Websockets are not supported on Windows yet:

I was testing pure mqtt. No luck.
Problem is somewhere in either BaseModule or Mqtt Module. But I don't know how to trouble shoot it.
