What are Z-Wave light bulbs?

Is anyone out there using Z-Wave light bulbs? I've found a handful (Aeotec, Enbrighten, GoControl), but they're all out of stock and appear suspiciously like they're being or have been phased out. I'm aware of fantastic Zigbee alternatives, but the requirement to strew Zigbee devices I don't want across my home so the network can reach the ones I do is a major disadvantage.

If anyone knows of a good Z-Wave option for North American frequencies, please let me know!

I have 2 of these : http://manuals-backend.z-wave.info/make ... 0-16085197
Not a lot of features but work fine (with dimming) and Z-wave plus...

And, here in NL at "robbshop" (dutch shop) , they still sell plenty z-wave ones....

As far as I know, Z-Wave bulbs allow you to control the lights using your smartphone. For example, you can turn them on/off, change their color, or brighten them. However, this seems an old-fashioned idea. There are so many more modern choices. Recently I ordered these amazons led light bulbs. I can control them with my voice! I even scheduled a bedtime routine and set a soft glow to simulate the morning sunlight as I wake up! These bulbs are a great Christmas idea. I would be thrilled if I would received them as a present!
