Shall we go on?
Since z-wave.me Raspbian is not working I just downloaded and instaled latest official desktop version of Raspberry PI OS. Nice piece od software and works like a charm. Then I tryed to install z-way..a and got this message: "Your raspbian distribution is currently not supported by z-way. Please contact z-wave.me for more info...".
Fine but z-wave.me DOES NOT have customer support service. Frustration?

and on...

OK, z-way is not up to date. Let's find older RasPI OS image (2020-02-13-raspbian-buster.img). Would this be supported distribution?

Instaling z-way gives bunch of errors:
N: Repository 'http://raspbian.raspberrypi.org/raspbian buster InRelease' changed its 'Suite' value from 'stable' to 'oldstable'
N: Repository 'http://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian buster InRelease' changed its 'Suite' value from 'testing' to 'oldstable'
Certificate verification failed: The certificate is NOT trusted. The certificate chain uses expired certificate. Could not handshake: Error in the certificate verification. [IP: 85.119.83.194 443]
E: The repository 'https://repo.mosquitto.org/debian buster Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

dpkg-query: no packages found matching z-way-server
dpkg-query: no packages found matching webif
dpkg-query: no packages found matching zbw

Should I call for technical support? Is this only happening to me? Should I be frustrated?
Any comments from other users?

um.. just calm down, you're complaining that your free software that you paid nothing for doesn't get instant support.

https://z-wave.me/z-way/download-z-way/

Use the SD-card image instead of installing rasbian and then z-way so you for sure know it will work together.

Sure!

Download the image file at:
https://razberry.z-wave.me/z-way-server ... ry.img.zip

After that read this documentation and follow the instructions

Thank you. Really appreciate your help.

What I did yesterday:
Downloaded image file (https://razberry.z-wave.me/z-way-server ... ry.img.zip), unzipped and followed instructions using Raspberry Pi Imager.
My first problem was default password and I figured out there was a problem in default keyboard settings (UK) where y <> z are swapped. "raspberrz" instead of "raspberry".

Raspbian boots in a console - command line mode. Is this OK, since I normay use Desktop environment to start 'find.z-wave.me'?

Then I run 'sudo raspi-config' command to change to B4 (No password, auto start in desktop mode). Did not work. "Lightdm package is missing". Running 'sudo apt-get install lightdm' did not help. So many errors on z-wave.me software. Same issue with 'sudo apt'get update'.
What am I doing wrong?

I'm not using it to connect to a display. I'm only accessing it via SSH and the web interface for z-way.

I think it's better to think of it as a dedicated hardware just for z-way and not involve a desktop environment.

I am using z-way since 2016. At least 4 clean instalations and never had any problems. Always used Raspbian with desktop.
Yesterday I tried different approach - to connect via SSH. Without success. Any guides, hints, whatever to help me deal with it ?

Am I really the only user having problem with clean install?

Why is Poltos ignoring my 'frustrations' he asked for?

Managed to connect. Needed to clean browser's cache.
But cloud located backup does not work. Modules are not restored... Reason?

Just saying something doesn't work is not helpful. You need to write down what happens, what you expect and what you have tried to do to solve it

Seeking support also takes effort from your past. Especially when it's free software, you cannot demand that your issue gets solved instantly.

You can start with reading this good guide to ask questions the right way:
