Getting a newer version is between you and Rehau support. It is clear that supporting what they sold is not a top priority. 3.1.3 was released on the 19th of February 2021. As you can see here:
https://forum.z-wave.me/viewtopic.php?f=3417&t=34156

That is almost two years ago, so if Rehau has yet to provide a further update in that timeframe, I would be looking to get off their platform. If the backup includes everything, then I would get a Raspberry Pi. This might take sometime as they can be hard to get. I would either be looking at 4B or a CM4. Then get a Razberry 7 (either Pro or non-pro), get Bullseye installed, make the config changes, install Z-Way and test that the restore worked. If it did, then you should just be able to power down your old hub and use the new one. If the restore was not successful, you still have your old hub to use as the issues are worked out with the new setup.

Ok, understand, so your recommendation is to move away from my Rehau Hub und deploy a new Raspberry Pi plus that Razberry 7 modul to support Z-Wave.
I have a RaspberryPI 4 which I am not using, but I would prefer using my Proxmox and install a Windows or Linux and connect a Aeotec Z-Stick 7 | Z-Wave Plus V2, could that be an option as well?
I don't think I would need to restore the Rehau Backup, I rather would like to go for a installation from scratch and then connect the new system to my Rehau device. I would retire the Rehau hub since that would not be needed anymore. Z-Wave I am only using to control my Rehau.Gaurd so my idea would be to just use that Aeotec Z-Stick 7 | Z-Wave Plus V2 installed on my Proxmox. Could that be an option?
Thank you so much for your help.

No, Z-Way only supports their Razberry modules. You can have it support other controllers but you have to pay Z-Wave.me to support it. Not a cheap solution at all.

Looks like someone was able to get it into Home Assistant:
https://community.home-assistant.io/t/r ... /433713/23

Not the most elegant solution but typical for something that is cloud based and no open API.

Z-Way supports various platforms:
https://storage.z-wave.me/z-way-server/

Windows updates are not as often as say Raspberry/Linux. 4.0.2 is the current release and you can see what is available for other platforms. Some have even taken a Razberry board and converted it into USB. Z-Wave does sell a USB based device but you still need a Z-Way license and it is is older 500 series chip. They have talked about a 700 series coming though. I personally would stay away from 500 series on a new install.

Ultimately you can use whatever hardware and whatever software you want, you're the ones that needs to support and live with it.

Thanks , very good answer. So I will now wait and see if Rehau comes back to my request.
I have also checked the link you shared that someone was able to get it into Home Assistant, but I think that is a different device it is the Nea Smart 2.0 Gateway which is different from what I have.

If Rehau will not have a solution then I will go and build my Raspberry PI4 and will buy the Razberry module. Looks like that will be the best solution then.

In any case - this is an easy way - even with HomeAssistant integration (within minutes).
How many devices you have to integrate? Is it a big deal to do it at new?

No, that is the thing, I only have one device connected to Z-Wave and that is the Re.Guard water control system. My other devices are already fully managed in Home Assistant. Like I said I already have a Raspberry PI4 but would rather like to use a VM inside of my Proxmox since this is already up and running. Installing the Raspberry would mean one more extra device just to have that Z-Wave connected to my Home Assistant.
My goal is to find the easiest solution to integrate the Re.Guard Watercontrol into my Home Assistant.
So for the Raspberry PI4 I have I would just have to buy that additional Razberry module to connect to the Re.Guard.

Home Assistant supports Z-Wave. If you have a single device, then maybe just getting a Z-Wave USB adapter and using the Z-Wave integration in Home Assistant will get you what you need.

Which USB adapter would you recommend? I am runnnig HA on Proxmox as virtual machine, so I am not sure how to map an UDB device through Proxmox to virtual HA

Depending on your VM software you will find guides in internet ;) It's not complicated...

Since we're just talking about one device and if you wanted the ability to run Z-Way in the future. Z-Wave.me has the UZB:
