If you old board worked, did you include the devices from scratch on the Razberry 7 board? Did the interview complete entirely?

It would be better to find the cause of your issue.
24.08.2021 v3.2.0

== Expert UI ==

New features:
- Added support of RaZberry 7 and RaZberry 7 Pro
- Added support for Long Range
So you need to run 3.2.0 or later for the Razberry 7 boards. If you want to try a previous version:
https://storage.z-wave.me/z-way-server/

v3.2.0:
https://storage.z-wave.me/z-way-server/ ... _armhf.deb

v3.2.1:
https://storage.z-wave.me/z-way-server/ ... _armhf.deb

v3.2.2:
https://storage.z-wave.me/z-way-server/ ... _armhf.deb

I'm running 3.2.3 and do not have the issue that you are experiencing.

Lanbrown thanks for the info, so my plan is the following

Setup 2nd SD card with older software, so I have 2 cards with different software.

But thinking my setup used much older software but I see what happens

Hmm.... Funny but both 3.2.0 and 3.2.1 error out wouldn't write not a multiple of 512 bytes. Using Raspberry Pi Imager v1.7.2
Should i use another SD burner?

Just install Z-Way from the command line. Use one of the links previously provided substitute the version for the Z-Way release you want to try with the command z-way has on their installation instructions.

The links provided are for the Z-Way software only, it does not include the the Raspberry Pi OS, so that is probably why the imager isn't working.

Can’t get it to work. Doesn’t install if I got a monitor keyboard / mouse via raspberrypi errors out. So no older software
Can’t or doesn’t work via 3.2.3 doesn’t see a switch on or off nice.
Don’t care about display don’t care don’t use it that way. I’m not nerdy enough don’t like to use a computer to turn on lights in the morning and don’t like a dark house.

Have an daylight sensor that turns on outside lights at dusk.
Timer turns off at night. Had a switch that turn on other lights if I liked before but had to update Razberry it doesn’t work doesn’t see the switch. Need a computer or iPhone to turn on lights now. Sweet

Steve burnt out for now.

But wonder if I used go older software and get a Razberry me version #2 well know that worked.

Hi,

You asked.. "But wonder if I used go older software and get a Razberry me version #2 well know that worked."
Yes it should work. But only if you have both backups from your now broken Version #2 .zab and .zbk files.

1st point.
You didn't answer Lanbrowns question ...
"If your old board worked, did you include the devices from scratch on the Razberry 7 board? Did the interview complete entirely?"
Maybe you were using an old backup from 2.3.8 ???
You did not tell us :( it's quite important to know.

--------------------------------------------------

Further info:-

Some older versions are still there to download!
Just change the url accordingly.
https://razberry.z-wave.me/z-way-server ... _armhf.deb
3.0.5 Was released in April 2020
2.3.8 Was Jan 2019 and is not available on that server.

Z-Wave.me 7 is New hardware and was not around 2 years ago.
3.2.3 with 7.13 firmware are your best options.

A while back If/Then App was replaced by Automation/Rules.
Does the same thing, Newer with more options.

If you have missing devices and forcing an Interview doesn't work.
Then follow the process for Exclusion and Inclusion.

-------------------------------------------------

Setup your new SD card with the image you prefer.
Something like. Raspberry Pi OS Lite - Debian version: 11 (bullseye)
https://www.raspberrypi.com/software/operating-systems/
Run raspi-config to configure your Country specifics.
Then install your chosen version of Z-wave software.
You will then need to Restore your backups.
If you had 2.3.8 you will need both backups .zab and .zbk files.
Nowdays the .zab file has the .zbk incorporated.

Have fun.

Hmm no sure think yes my old software was 2.3.8 think anyway, I just did an update with that and got 3.2.3 with old board version #2
version #2 is in trash history I killed it by accident spilled milk on it and raspberry pi 3b, to remove milk I raised all apart with water and dried. Raspberry lived to another day, RazberryMe died you could fry a egg on it. Done brought 7 and now another 2.

Ok, so I'm clear...

Starting with a new version 2 tomorrow run 3.05. I do this via raspberry web browser with a clean raspberry SD card?
BTW plan on doing a complete redo do all new switches and outlets. All new devices and timers then do IF/THEN statements
