razberry 7 case

Post by etnica »

Hello,
just got my razberry 7 but it will not fit in a original pi 4 case.

Wondering if anyone have any tip on what case it would fit in.. I assume it should be a plastic case...

Cheers

It fits inside the Canakit case for the Raspberry Pi 4, shown in the picture below.

Will a fan fit in the elecrow case with razberry?

Would like a case with fan, but that was even harder to find which works with razberry 7.

The fan will conflict geometrically with all shields

I use passive cooling from the Geekworm Raspberry Pi 4 Armor Case. I also then bought a DIN mount for the Raspberry Pi and some longer screws. So then the Raspberry Pi can be mounted on a DIN rail. Since everything is all metal (aluminum or steel) it is one giant heat sink. I also used a thermal conductive silicon pad between the Geekworm case to the Raspberry Pi on the bottom and the top. It is cut to fit and then trimmed off any excess that extends past the case. No need for a mechanical fan when you have one giant heat sink and there are no overheating issues at all. They also sit in an elevated temperature environment and have never once overheated or throttled.

This is also why I went with the Razberry Pro board so I used another DIN rail clip and elevated the antenna above the Raspberry Pi so it is not obstructed.

Do you by any chance know of a good place to get my hands on a case like that? I did try ordering through their official page here but it doesn't ship outside of the US and Canada unfortunately.

I have the Canakit I mentioned above with the Razberry 7 Pro and a fan inside, as can be seen in the picture above. Granted, I had to do drill a hole on the top cover, for the fan to be able to pull some fresh air from the surrounding environment and a small hole for the external connector, but I think the most important fact that allows for such setup is the Razberry 7 Pro smaller footprint.
