Fibaro Roller Shutter stops movement after 1-2sec

Post by LasPro »

I have 3 Roller shutter modules installed: 2 for blinds, 1 for a Somfy Glydea curtain system. All worked fine for a couple of years. The Somfy Glydea is designed for manual switching operation and shall consume 60W. Operated with manual switch it auto detects the end positions like blinds do.

From one day to next the Fibaro module stops 1-2secs after the opening or closing command is issued and motion started. The relais interrupts the current flow and the curtain stops after 10..15mm. The position indicator in the UI sometimes jumps from 0 to 99% immediately. How normally the Fibaro switch detects the final position?

In order to exclude potential overload I removed the curtain and started the motor w/o load - same behavior.
I'm using the Z-Wave UI.

I bought a Technicsat Roller shutter which shows exactly the same behaviour. (Technisat is indicating overload by red LED - no overload in my case)

Do you have any idea how to fix the problem?

Please show the log from the moment you execute the command to the moment the device stops.

I operated the curtain for testing with the Fibaro roller shutter and with the Technisat soller shutter, 2 to 3 times each.

The registered events in the Z-Wave UI have shown an increase from 0% up to 99% in less than one second but the curtain just started to move. I include screenshots in the logs.

I measured the current consumption with an ampere meter: starting current: 300 mA, running current: 30 mA. So the systems seems not being overloaded.

N.B.: It was really strange what happened once this trouble started: The Z.Wave controller excluded the fibaro module and included it immediately again (from device #23 to device #62) without touching the module (it has been installed in the wall plug).

I tried to upload summaries of the log files in pdf or RTF but this seems not possible?

You will find hereby one of the excerpts of the Log-files (Fibaro module, #62):

From your log (in PM): the device reports only three states: 0/99 and unknown (0xFE). This means it does not understand well it's position (so reports 0xFE) until it reaches the end where 0 and 99 are reported. Check your calibration and device settings.

Thanks for the hint! Finally it works using well - hidden parameter found in the Z-wave.info documentation:
http://manuals-backend.z-wave.info/make ... IBEFGR-222

In my case I had to adjust Parameter 18 "Motor operation detection": Pre setting: 10, no detection: 0
In my case the parameter 2 works fine.
However I installed the device 2-3 years before and I cannot remember adjusting this parameter

By the way: Fibaro Roller Shutter 2 (FGR 222) is not part of the Z-Wave device list.
