Strips Guard 700 Device Description missing

Post by RolfKunkel »

Hi All,

I included a new "Strips Sensative 700" door and window sensor but there is no device description available and ZWAY did not create any visible device. The device is visible in the Device-Status list but not in the Device-Battery list. The interview is at 100% but it seems the inclusion was done only half way.

at first side everything looks fine but due to the fact that there is no device description and no new device created during the inclusion the device is visible but cannot be used.

Has someone this device in use and can help me to fix the issue.

My configuration is
Razberry 7 Pro
ZWAY v4.0.2

I'm not sure this device reports the battery as it is not chargeable or changeable! It should pass the interview fully - try to re-include. And note that device description is needed only for old devices.

It passed the interview fully and it got device id 17 but I cannot find any device. Usualy new devices (after inclusion) are in the room "not asigned to any room" but in this case there is no device visible.

Excluding/ including I tried already three times and it is always the same. Including successful but no device visible in any room.

Hi,
sorry for "interfering" here ;)

But I think it would be very helpful to get the log while include process.
if you can send the log part with inclusion process would be great!
(for Raspberry /var/log/z-way-server.log)

Another possibility is that it is just a notification sensor and not say a binary sensor that would have some sort of object.

Accpording to the user manual of this device it is a binary sensor that can be configured. But after the successfull inclusion of the device (interview 100%) there is no new device available in any room and it is not possible to change the device configuration because ZWAY gives me an error message.

And when I move the magnet over the sensor (simulation to open/ close a window) the sensor answers with 5 times green LED blinking which means "communication error with controller".

There is something wrong with the inclusion process for this device type.

I hope I succeed to create a log file that contains the inclusion but I am not very familiar with these kind of things and therefore it can take time to do it.

Your list of supported Command Classes shows only technical classes. Looks like it was included without Security and the device locked its functions. Please include it using Security. Go to Expert UI, Network, Control, and Include the device and grant keys it requested.
