New User Step by Step

Post by wa9ecj »

Is there a step by step document that goes further than just installing the Razberry image onto the SD card the plugging the card on to the Pi?

So far, I was able to access the system at port 8084 and update firmware to 2.0.0, but how do I really test the communication to the daughter card to verify it is working? I fumble around with the settings on port 8083, and see warning messages, but I don't have any idea where to start troubleshooting. One of the topics talks about adding modules but not a lot of detail. I am happy work with other members to help create such a document!

Thanks!!!

There should be a module called Z-Wave Binding with port selected to "/dev/ttyAMA0" and name "zway"

Thank you for the response.

At port 8083, under the Z-Way Home Automation UI, I see warning message "Can not start Z-ave binding: Error: Binding with name 'zway' already exists.

If I go to modules, I see that SwitchControlGenerator and OpenRemoteHelpers are used. When I try to "add" Z-Wave binding, it looks like I need to import_settings_from: In the drop-down box, there are 3 instances [5], [9], and [10]. I don't see a reference to /dev/ttyAMA0.

If I go to port 8083 and try the Expert-UI, I see the message "Error handling data from the server".

Again, thank you for the help.

You don't use import and just create clean module and enter "/dev/ttyAMA0" and "zway". Then reboot the box.

I see the Z-Wave binding in the Preferences -> Automation and it is set to /dev/ttyAMA0. Now I see the Warning: Can not start Z-Wave binding: Error: Bad data - communication failed

Today I created a new image and followed the instructions at http://www.openremote.org/display/docs/ ... h+Razberry

Again, I got to the point of setting the binding to dev/ttyAMA0. Again, the "Open the Old Expert UI . Switch to Expert mode in the lower right corner. " Again, I see the error " Sorry, server has not completely started yet.

This is very frustrating. Log file zipped is too big to attach. Any thoughts? Anyone else have a similar issue?
