Is it safe to install WiringPi to control GPIO pins?

I consider to control the few accesible GPIO pins using the WiringPI module (https://projects.drogon.net/raspberry-p ... d-install/).
I am unable to judge if the initialisation of the module could negatively affect the serial communication of the RaZberry module. Anybody out there who has used this module ??

I boldly installed it; restarted the Pi, and everything seems to be working OK.
Next is playing with some of the output pins
