connecting over internet

Post by t2tonesimone »

hi I currently have z-way on an rpii with aeon labs usb stick and z-cloud. would there be any benefit in switching to razberry board? I need to control heating etc via internet as I am often away from home working. could I do this with razberry easily? haven't been able to find a definitive answer in other post. thanks

until the Ui is developed as I have very little knowledge of scripts and things. The cloud version works fine atm just worried about it all stopping if the internet goes down.

The easiest way to control

Post by LOCOSP »

The easiest way to control you Home automation via internet is to forward and open ports on Your router...

for example: if Your Razberry working on IP 192.168.1.2 by default on port 8083 just go to your router settings ( Port Forwarding) and redirect port 8083 to 192.168.1.2 ...

This example is useful if You have static global IP, if no just use dyndns or NOIP services..
