Creating a SD Card from download

Post by grimbouk »

hi all,

ok, yes I'm a newbie for raspberry pi, but I've failed at the first step! I can't even get my SD card setup!

I'm trying to follow the instructions here: http://razberry.z-wave.me/index.php?id=24 to setup a new SD card. I'm using a Windows 8 PC to create the SD card image.

I've formatted the card as directed and downloaded the image:
http://razberry.z-wave.me/z-way-server/razberry.img.zip
within the zip file I can see the file razberry-1.7.1.img

Now I'm stuck, how do I extract the image from the zip file to the SD card on a windows PC?

...under Windows you can use Win32DiskImager. Win32DiskImager takes the "razberry-1.7.1.img" from a windows-drive and writes the Contents of the Image to your SD-Card

The razberry-1.7.1.img does contain an active OpenRemote installation. Most users won't need that. Somewhere in the middle of this Recipe there are a few lines that describe how to disable OpenRemote.
