Home Automation UI in 2.01 RCx is very bad!

Post by fableman »

Hi.

I am new to this, but the feeling fo the UI is very bad.

I rename devices in expert mode but the names don't follow over to the Home Auto UI

I see lots of things that should not be in the scenes.

I make my own scenes, but naming don't work in modules and so on and so on,.,.

Naming are messy in all modules in home auto UI.

Can the developers fix this before adding anything else?! This is the biggest problem for me and other new users I belive. A product with this broken UI is bad for the trademark.

Just my 2 cents..

I second that. The names already defined in the expert UI should get carried over into the HA UI. Else it is double work.

Guys, this is a pretty useless discussion. The Expert UI, also known as "blue UI" is ultimately going to disappear in favour of the new Expert UI, which essentially is a Z-Wave devices management tool. The HA abstract devices layer is meant to seamlessly support other protocols (FWIW: I did spot somewhere a little Enocean module). And of cource we can already create our own devices using some of the standard HA modules.
There seems to be work planned for a much better HA User interface.

yes we know OLD Expert UI is going, but the point of naming between NEW Expert UI and HA still stands. Even in HA you name automation in widgets and in automation... Sensors read wrong, etc.
