Fibaro FGK-101 first start

Hey all,

I am very exited to be a noobie in a z-wave world :) I have bourght Razberri board + Pi and a Fibaro FGK-101 Window/Door sensor. Z-wave.me install looks successfull and i can see the panel and such. It also looks like i have included the device correctly (no idea why its russian..) Image

The problem is i have no idea how to see state change? How to actually see when the doors are open/close. And there should be temperature sensor too..

Can it be because it sais device is Idle?

I have also installed OpenRemote but that is also super complicated to set up for a new z-wave user...

Anyone could guide me through the process of how things work here? :)

Did you see the instruction I have written (see below)? Give it a try, and please report where you get stuck or things you are missing, so I can improve. Setting up with OpenRemote is a bit of work though.

Hey thx for a reply,

Yes i have looked at the guide. But part Check Z-Wave devices is not that easy for a new person if you dont have switch. For instance i have sensor and i cant test if its on or off. I go to Controll > Sensors and can see:
2 Routing Binary Sensor_2 General purpose Idle 03.04.2015

how could i test that its working?

Yes it is indeed a steep learning curve
how could i test that its working?
In the meantime I have added an example for a binary sensor to the manual. Also changed the commandclass number in named command classes to make it more readable. So with your browser you can test now:

which returns false|true

If you have installed moule OpenRemoteHelpers you can use the simplified notation:

which returns on|off

hey :)

So i have tried those two lines and both of them returs FALSE or OFF. And it looks like my sensor never gets to ON or TRUE state.

Any way to test if sensor is included correctly? do you know what state idle means and how can i change states if thats what causes it?

I have installed OpenRemote successfully so that part of the guide is good :)

But what did the browser say exaclty?

If everything looks allright in configuration as you say, I would play a bit with the http query in firefox or similar just start with

see what happens while you extend with

http://raspberry_IP:8083/ZWaveAPI/Run/devices[2].instances[0]
etcetera. Maybe your device needs instance 1.

These two calls do generate quite a bit of JSON data. There is a recipe that helps visualising such data.

I tried to look through the JSON and find differences when its in open or close state but nothing changes.

Well i can see that the battery went down :D but nothing else. I cant seem to get the changed state when doors would open/close... Not even talking about the temperature.

Just tryed Excluding >> reseting >> indluding devica back... still binary sensor always FALSE :(

limitgreen, can you connect to your Razberry via ssh and see the last log with

tail -f /var/log/z-way-server.log
Then try to activate/deactivate (on sensor there should be blue light activated also).
Put here log lines, so we could check.
I have several Fibaro FGKs with no problems (but with 2.1 firmware)
