My RPi that was running Razberry/ZWay died.

I didn't have a backup of my configuration (yes, yes, I know, I know).

So, I got a new Pi, and installed ZWay on it.

Now, I'm going through my network trying to exclude/re-include all my devices.

Most of my devices are back online. However, I have a few devices that just do not seem to want to exclude.

Is there any trick here that I might be missing? I've tried some of these devices dozens of times, including all variety of alternate "exclude mode" gyrations found in various versions of the device firmware that are out there.

Is there any way to force a device off the network somehow, that isn't this crappy process?

I wont say anything about the backup

I had the same problems of not being able to exclude a device, but after a lot of hair pulling I accidentally found the "Remove Failed Node" button in Network->Control. The failed device was actually listed in the dropdown and I think I managed to remove it that way.

If I "Remove Failed Node" will I be able to add the device back to the network by re-including it?

Yepp, you just put the controller in "Inclusion mode", press the button on the device and it should be picked up by the controller. Basically as you did the first time you added it to the network. Don't know which controller you use, but that's how it's done in Raz. It will of course get another (new) id. At least, this worked for me .
