IKEA trådfri - Zway

Hi,

I've tried to add a IKEA E27 LED light bulb (http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/products/ligh ... -70338932/) device without any success.

According to http://www.automatiserar.se/ikea-lanser ... vera-plus/ (Swedish, sorry) you put the lamp in "Inclusion" mode by toggling (0,5-1,0 sec) the lamp 6 times and you need a very short range to the controller (<50cm). Despite this i don't manage to get zway to find the device.

Anyone having any useful tips!?

Hi nonnos,

I'm afraid this will not work. Your systems are speaking different languages: Z-way (Z-wave) <-> trådfri (Zigbee). Not compatible! Unfortunately Trådfri is (at the moment) also not compatible to the Philips Hue system.

Wait a few weeks until the Trådfri-Bridge gets an update and thus an open API, then you can control your LED soon with Z-way. Just wait and see!

Ok, I see. Thanks for the information.

Do you have any good links to poll to know when the open API is released?

Hi nonnos,

the swedish link speaks from vera plus, another gateway. vera plus speaks zigbee and z-wave.

Hi. For sure there should be some progress on IKEA integration. Please update?

There is no ZigBee support in Z-Way, so no way to support IKEA on the hardware side

Thanks.
Quick googling showed that Home Assistant can do both.
