Firmware upgrade brick?

Post by MrRusch »

I listened to recorded webinar today, used the token to find upgrade and proceeded assuming that my device ZMEERAZ2 Rev.2.1 would be fine as I purchased it relatively recently.

However, after upgrading firmware the device seems to be completely dead.

z-way-server.log (attached) shows the process seemingly succeeding, ordering a soft reset and terminating the z-wave binding,

Code: Select all

[2020-05-19 21:45:39.722] [I] [zway] Removing job: Soft reset
[2020-05-19 21:45:39.733] [D] [zway] Worker thread exit point

[2020-05-19 21:45:39.734] [I] [core] Terminating Z-Wave binding
..only to realize it cant find it again,

[2020-05-19 21:45:42.003] [I] [core] Trying to restart Z-Wave binding (zway) in 10 seconds
..ending finally with,

ZMESerialUpdater just keeps ticking away with (-->) apparently unable to open the port.

I have done multiple complete power cycles of RPI and am stuck.

Any ideas?

This seems to be a perfect duplicate,

My leds seem pretty strong, not sure what it used to look like.

Think you answered your own question.
I'm sure Serguei said the blue ones were suspect in the Webinar (bad manufacture batch - fails upgrade).

Maybe Poltos will give some advice.
Raspi 4(Buster), Zwave Version 3.0.6 x It's not my fault... I am not z-way team, just a user of a great system.

Correct, blue boards are affected by this issue. If both LEDs lid faintly, it is dead. Please swap it in your shop for free.
