Arduino 1.6.5, Update to newer version?

Hi PoltoS,

the documentaion of the Z-Uno states that (only) the version 1.6.5 should be used. This is quite an old version from 2015. What is the reason that keeps us from updating to a newer version? Is it something that the community can help to fix?

What will happen if I update to the latest 1.6.12 version?

Best regards,
Andreas.

During the time around 1.6.5 (few prior and few versions after) Arduino changed a lot tbeir packaging design. This required us and other third parties to change package format. We decided to stuck on one version not to redo every release packing format. Now Arduino came to something stable and we are thinking to jump to 1.6.10.

That sounds like internal work where no one can help... Rigth?

But why are you targeting to 1.6.10 and not for the actual release?
