We at Z-Wave.Me are working on the new Z-Uno based on the new SiLabs chip. It is almost done, so before end of this year you will certainly have a chance to touch it!

By this message we would like to ask you to give us your feedback and suggestsion. What to improve in the Z-Uno, what to improve in the Z-Uno Shield?

All suggestions are welcome: schematics, technical characteristics, software features, IDE, packing, ...

So what I like to be available on the new Z-Uno devices:
- enhanced DEBUG capabilities
- JTAG interface

Debug capabilities like breakpoints and watches are a must have for every (semi-professional) embedded developer. See Embedded print Statements != Debugging (https://www.drdobbs.com/architecture-an ... /240148855).

Having a JTAG interface onboard the Z-Uno devices also allowes the UART to be used as... UART

* I find the range of the device very short compared to other Z-Wave Plus devices in my network. Would fitting an external antenna connector help improve the range?
* Can you also please look at integration with Visual Studio - perhaps via the PlatformIO plugin?
* Would it be possible to add an API to get details of the received signal quality/strength? It would make positioning the device in the network a bit easier.

Please add an antenna connector by default. I soldered one on to my Z-Uno and now I get almost 100m range with a Yagi antenna.

Will the current z-uno be working with VS Code?

No, only next (7th gen). The current (5th gen) will not. Sorry
