How do I start an old Z-Uno1 in these days?

Post by MatsPojken »

Windows10 won't accept my Z-Uno as an USB device and tells me that the driver is the correct one when I try to change it.
Luckily I have an Ubuntu system at the side with Arduino IDE 1.8.5. This accepts the Z-Uno on a port but when I try to compile I get the error printout:

Board zuno (platform zw8051, package Z-Uno) is unknown
Error compiling for board Z-Wave>ME Z-Uno.

Board name, programmer name and port seem to be what I expect.

Please try to remove the Z-Uno package and install it again. Looks like some broken installation

@PoltoS:
OK, I tried that several times (using Z-Uno packages only) without success. Then I tried to install both Z-Uno and Z-Uno2 packages and then burning the bootloader resulted in the following:

Arduino:1.8.5 (Linux), Kort:"Z-Wave>ME Z-Uno, Europe, Disabled, Disabled, Disabled"

I think I need a completely fresh restart of the installation. But it looks like the files from the probably disrupted install are still there.
How do I proceed? How do I get the firmware?

I have fixed half the problem! Ok, I admit I have an Arduino system that is rather messed up. When I tried in a "clean" Ubuntu system with a fresh, old Arduino install(1.6.6) everything worked by the book! Is there an upper 1.8.x version. I have to try...
But when I then moved to Windows10, the Z-Uno was not accepted as an USB device, without a possibilty to add a driver manually.
So I think I'll close this post and enter another with my Windows10 problem.
