I'm using RaZberry (Version 2.1.2-rc17) as secondary controller (primary controller is a vera lite).
I've included all devices (varius Merten/Connect roller shutter / fibaro wall plugs and dimmers / motion sensor) via lern mode from the primary controller. Everything works fine so far.
After installing the Homekit Gateway App i get the following error in the log file (and no Homekit Pin):

Code: Select all

[2015-12-01 19:05:22.269] [I] [core] Instantiating module 10 from class HomeKitGate

    at ZAutomationAPIWebRequest.handlerFunc (automation/ZAutomationAPIProvider.js:1777:52)
So I can't use Homekit
Any ideas whats wrong?
Thanks in advance

After no luck pairing when using 2.1.2rc17, I started from scratch and installed 2.1.1. No problems pairing this time, and most of my Z-Wave devices work fine through HomeKit. However, as others mentioned in this thread, after a few hours I lost control of the switches. I was hoping that using the newest HomeKitGate module would help, but after installing that and removing and re-pairing RaZberry, it worked for a short time again. I had to remove and pair again to restore communication, but I expect that it will fail again after an hour or so. Something definitely isn't right.

Hi guys,

I have a razberry and a TKBHOME TZ68E plug switch connected to the z-wave network.

I just upgraded the content of /opt/z-way-server/automation to the branch new_release_candidate of https://github.com/Z-Wave-Me/home-automation.git

I removed the old home kit gate, rebooted the system and added it again, I got this:

Code: Select all

[2015-12-02 09:07:47.733] [I] [core] Instantiating module 13 from class HomeKitGate
[2015-12-02 09:07:47.774] [I] [core] --- Starting module Apple HomeKit Gate
[2015-12-02 09:07:48.017] [I] [core] Notification: error (core): Cannot instantiate module: HomeKitGate: Error: Invlid type UUID
[2015-12-02 09:07:48.119] [I] [core] Error: Invlid type UUID
    at new HKCharacteristic (zway/homekit:270:15)
    at HKService.addCharacteristic (zway/homekit:244:26)
    at onDeviceAddedCore (automation/modules/HomeKitGate/index.js:437:13)
    at Function._.each._.forEach (automation/lib/underscore.js:146:17)
    at _.extend.each (automation/classes/DevicesCollection.js:181:18)
    at HomeKitGate.init (automation/modules/HomeKitGate/index.js:502:26)
    at AutomationController.instantiateModule (automation/classes/AutomationController.js:333:22)
    at AutomationController.createInstance (automation/classes/AutomationController.js:614:14)
    at ZAutomationAPIWebRequest._.extend.createInstance (automation/ZAutomationAPIProvider.js:1050:40)
    at ZAutomationAPIWebRequest.ZAutomationWebRequest.handleRequest (automation/WebserverRequestRouter.js:258:41)
If I try to remove it and add it again I got:

Code: Select all

[2015-12-02 09:09:35.752] [I] [core] Instantiating module 13 from class HomeKitGate
[2015-12-02 09:09:35.756] [I] [core] WARNING: Module 13 is a singleton and already has been instantiated. Skipping.
Any idea of how to fix it?

Thanks!

I just did a full system clean install without restoring my config and I now have a RaZberry accessory but it won't pair.

I get an error that says:

Out of Order
The requested device does not conform to HomeKit specifications.

It looks like Z-Way has dropped homekit support. :(

I can't seem to find any other options for using all of my existing Z-Wave devices with Homekit. Has anyone seen anything which might work? I'm not averse to spending money, it just needs to exist.

Correct, see recent github commit
I don't know the present situation, but they did recommend Iridium mobile in the past

Briefly looking at Iridium Mobile, I didn't see anything HomeKit related there.

However, based on the github conversation, it looks like HomeKitGate will continue to exist as a community supported item for legal reasons. I guess I can live with that but would love to see a fully supported solution with the apple authorized chip built into the hardware. Realistically, the development costs would be prohibitive unless the potential market for such devices was much larger than I think it is.

I've come across Homebridge for Z-way:

https://github.com/SphtKr/homebridge-zway

Has anyone tried this yet? The commit logs show some relatively recent activity so I have somewhat realistic hopes that it works.

I'll try to play with it this weekend if I can free up some time.

I wanted to write a post about it since a few days. You were faster now!

HomeBridge for Zway is working rock solid since now 2 weeks here. HomeKit integration is definitely better than with the deprecated z-way module ever was. The installation and configuration took me a quarter of an hour. Clear recommendation from my side!

If help is needed for installation, drop me a line!
