Aeotec WallMote Quad (good) vs NanoMote Quad (help!)

Post by pgdharman »

Hi, I've got RaZberry 3.2.1 (app 1.3, sdk 6.71.01)with firmware 5.39 working fine with the Aeotec WallMote Quad (hereafter WMQ), but I've just bought a Aeotec NanoMote Quad (hereafter NMQ) which includes, but then fails to talk. I opted for the S2 unauthenticated during inclusion, and the initial interview seemed to work just fine...

However, after inclusion nothing happens. Zniffer doesn't see any further communitcation. I'm wondering if the device didn't honour my request for no unauthentication?

I also note that the WMQ installed a Lifeline association to Z-Way, but there is not such association with for the NMQ. Indeed, if I try to add one, I get an error ...

The controller queue seems to be stuck waiting for stuff, even when I put the device into "Long Wakeup" mode...

I think if you look in the log, it will complain. Please show the log

Here's an extract of the full log from the first interaction with node 27 to the last.

Hard to say - the device explicitly reported that the Association.Set failed.

[2021-11-25 00:00:19.554] [zway] Node 27:0 CC SecurityS2: passing S2 Unauthenticated decrypted packet to application level: [ 6c 02 04 02 00 ]

There is nothing we can do, please contact the manufacturer.

I'm still discussing this with Aeotec. They've asked me to try an insecure mode. One thing that has emerged is that during inclusion in the Expert UI (for some reason, I've always used this, not the SmartHome UI for inclusion since I started 4+ years ago), if try to use the S0 or S2 Unauthenticated modes, the interview phase never completes (no response for Security and SecurityS2).

I have recorded a few videos of inclusion attempts in the Expert UI...
