Re: Adding secondary controller

I have now after many hours, reboots and forced interview managed to have identical controllers.

So my next step was to include a new device (Qubino Flush 1 relay) I did the include on Gen5 and it seems impossible to get that device to show on my Gen3.
What should i do to make that device to be present on my Gen3?

Press Request Network Update button (it is now present in 2.0.1-rc8 and was always present in Blue UI)

Thanks for the answer.
Iam running 2.0.0 and did this with the Blue UI, but that did not work, here is the log.I have tried to reboot both Gen3 and Gen5 but the same error when i try to Request Network Update.
Whats next?

Code: Select all

Any new about this?
If Request network update is the only way to get that controller to know about the device, then i have no ide how i should do when that command fails all of the time.

I just cant sit around and waiting for answers when my network is not working as it should, i have to do something.
I have now updated both controllers to the latest version that i found v2.0.1-rc10 still same problem.

Okey, i have continued to investigate this.

It was impossible to get the network update from Gen5 to Gen3 so my plan was to let the Gen3 become Primary with SUC/SIS Role, but that also just ended up with failed.
I decided to release the SUC/SIS role from Gen5 and hoped that Gen3 could pick it up when there where no SUC/SIS controller in the network.
But Gen3 could still not become SUC/SIS, now when Gen5 does not have that role then it was possible for me to leave the network with Gen5, so i did.

So then i had a network with only Gen3 and as primary but still impossible to become SUC/SIS.

Now i used the function to change primary controller and included the Gen5 again and now it looks better, Gen5 is primary and i could add the SUC/SIS role to it, Gen3 is secondary. Also the text seem right this time.

Info Gen3:
Controller is secondary in the network. Your primary controller is in a special SIS mode and so this and any other controller in the network can still add and remove devices to/from the network.

Info Gen5:
Controller is primary in the network. It is in a special SIS mode and so any controller in the network can add and remove devices to/from the network.

The issue remains that Gen3 could not get update from network but if i include a new device on Gen3 then it automatically shows on both controllers.

Now i just have to reinterview all the devices on Gen5.
I will let you know if i encounters any more issues on my way to make this redundant.

Keep us updated. :)

It would be nice if you could have two redundant razberries that could use TCP/IP to negotiate who's which master and keep each other informed (if z-wave doesn't work for this).

I am going to use beyondmeasure (beyondmeasure.se) for the redundant part.

Iam having several fibaro door/window-sensor, The problem with them seems to be that its is possible to interview them when they are installed. I have to take them down and click the button on the back. Then it wakes up and i could interview it.
I have tried to click the button inside the cover but that dident wake the device.

Good question... This is really deep inside Z-Wave protocol and even we are not so good in this...

If Request Network update on both do not work, the last resort is to try "re-include" Gen3 in Gen5. WITHOUT exclusion. This will lead to update of nodes info on Gen3. If this does not help neither, we will need to ask Sigma how this works

Now when i know how it works, that i have to include my devices on the secondary controller, in my case Gen3 then this will be no issue, i just have to remember not to add anything direct to my Primary Gen5 controller.

I included a new device a moment ago again on my Gen3 and it worked as it should.

1: include device on Secondary controller (Gen3 in my case)
2: force interview on secondary (Gen3)
3: force interview on primary (Gen5)

Not that hard when you know how to do it :)
