Hi guys,
Tried to install the UZB stick (ZMEEUZB1) on my Windows 8.1 x64 server and failed. The following error msg apprears when i try to install the windows driver from http://www.z-wave.me/index.php?id=14 on the new USB device that pops up when i plug in the stick:
"The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems" (see screenshot also)
Same happens if i load an FTDI device first on the USB device.
How do I get Windows to recognize the UZB dongle and what driver do I use to make it happen?
Thank,
Thomas

Re: How to get UZB stick to work on Win8.1?
The tip below seemed to have worked for me, even though the outcome was completely random, as i hadn't changed anything from the restart before. Several restarts and and countless uninstalls of the not recognised USB device later, out of the blue I had UZB port in my com-ports.

For some reason I decided to drop the uzb.inf file into "C:\windows\inf\" and reboot. After that the device was found and installed. Remember, windows did not think that the driver was a correct driver for win7 x64.
