Hi,
I am looking for a z-wave or 433mhz device that can change the power consumption of a1500w water heater. The idea is to reduce the power in watts when the electricity from the photovoltaic system goes down and increase it when there is enough left.
I have found dimmers but rarely exceed a max of 500w. I would need one around 1500w max output.
Thanks!
Dimmer for electric water heater
Re: Dimmer for electric water heater
Forget z-wave light dimmers.
You need:
- Single phase AC voltage regulator module 220V (I use 100A for 3kW heater) /20 EUR on AliExprress/
- PWM to 0-10V Voltage Converter /2 EUR on Aliexpress/
- DS18B20 temperature sensor (encapsulated with cable) /2 EUR on Alexpress/
- Z-UNO 2 module - boiler temperature, dimmer (PWM output).
My configuratin for driving three 3kW heaters includes also power relay, two push buttons and Qubino 3 phase smart meter.
It is simple to dimm manually from Android App. For automation > Easy Scripting
If you are interested I can give more detailed instructions...
