Windows Z-Way Service (ZWaySvc) could not be started

Post by Hanau4 »

Hi community,

I´m Norbert - from Germany.
I use UZB and Z-Way Software successfully on different Windows PC´s.
Now I gut 2 new mini PC´s one with Win10 pro, the other with Win 11 pro.

When installing z-way-server-windows-v3.2.1 and others,
installation almost runs through ...
until the Services are going to be started ...
after 5 sec. the installations causes the above error.
Options are "retry" and "abort"

I changed the Service-Start timeout in the registry
checked the user permissions
asked Dr. Google ...

and I have no clue left ';)

maybe you had the same issue and solved it already -
or any ideas are welcome.

thanks and kind regards

Norbert

Hello!

Looks like the Z-Way service fails to start. There should be a log in the c:\program files\z-way server folder. Please open it and show the error.

Which of the mini-PCs are you facing the error on? The one with Win10 or Win11?

Good morning,

thanks PoltoS and Alexis92 for your comments and questions.

It happened on both mini PC´s ... Win10 and Win11

Searching for the log file, I found the file: z-way-svc
When executing the file, a more specific error came up: VCruntime140.dll missing
I downloaded (from Microsoft) and reinstalled the VC Library - no success.
I noted that z-way installed in programs(x86) directory.

Downloaded the x86 Version of the VC Library, installed it
and now it works like usual ;)

Thanks again

best regards

Norbert
