Hi,
I'm running the new RaZberry Daughter Card on a Rasberry 3 under Jessie. Latest firmware (v2.3.0). The server stops several times a day and I have to restart it. The logfile is gigantic and filled with:
[2017-02-16 22:24:02.499] [E] [zway] SaveData will not save data since it wasn't loaded. This is to prevent data loss.
[2017-02-16 22:24:02.500] [E] [zway] SaveData will not save data since it wasn't loaded. This is to prevent data loss.
[2017-02-16 22:24:02.501] [E] [zway] SaveData will not save data since it wasn't loaded. This is to prevent data loss.
[2017-02-16 22:24:02.502] [E] [zway] SaveData will not save data since it wasn't loaded. This is to prevent data loss.
[2017-02-16 22:24:02.502] [E] [zway] SaveData will not save data since it wasn't loaded. This is to prevent data loss.
I have reduced the log-level to 3 in order to reduce the logging hoping that the server would survive but that did not help. I do understand this is too little info for you to solve the problem but first I need your advice on how to approach finding the problem. If I allow the loglevel to sit at the default of 0, the logs will grow uncontrolled as several hundred of the above error messages are produced every second. What is your advice?
Best regards,
Brus-Per Högstedt

Re: Server halts and log is filled with "[E] [zway] SaveData
I might add that the RaspBerry itself is not halting, it is running NexaHome as well and it keeps working when Razberry stops. I recently upgraded the z-way controller to the new model but as far as I have been able to figure out, no other action than a backup/restore of the z-wave config was needed.
Re: Server halts and log is filled with "[E] [zway] SaveData
I have enabled full logging, and the SaveData problem is related to interviews of the devices:

Re: Server halts and log is filled with "[E] [zway] SaveData
I don't know why I keep adding information to this thread as it is obvious that the Z-way people couldn't care less but anyway:
The server obviously dies from some reason. When i restart the server, the message is:
"Stopping z-way-server: start-stop-daemon: warning: failed to kill 1523: No such process"
Furthermore, when the server is running, it seems to consume a lot of CPU:
Linux 4.4.46-v7+ (zWave_Nexa) 2017-02-24 _armv7l_ (4 CPU)
10:28:14 UID PID %usr %system %guest %CPU CPU Command
10:28:19 0 14446 22,16 2,99 0,00 25,15 1 z-way-server
10:28:24 0 14446 7,40 1,20 0,00 8,60 1 z-way-server
10:28:29 0 14446 12,40 2,00 0,00 14,40 1 z-way-server
10:28:34 0 14446 19,40 3,00 0,00 22,40 1 z-way-server
10:28:39 0 14446 16,40 1,80 0,00 18,20 1 z-way-server
10:28:44 0 14446 10,00 2,60 0,00 12,60 1 z-way-server
10:28:49 0 14446 11,20 2,80 0,00 14,00 1 z-way-server
10:28:54 0 14446 20,80 3,80 0,00 24,60 1 z-way-server
10:28:59 0 14446 21,60 1,40 0,00 23,00 1 z-way-server

10:29:09 0 14446 15,20 3,20 0,00 18,40 1 z-way-server
So the situation is the same as eight days ago: The lights in my house remains uncontrollable most of the time and the family hates zwave I was under the impression that the people at Z-Wave.Me refers to this forum as the support venue but I'm obviously wrong. So where do one turn in order to get some support?

Re: Server halts and log is filled with "[E] [zway] SaveData
Hi, yes sometimes it is annoying when you get no answer or support.
Even the Z-Way System is a commercial product, there is no structure that I can see.
If i would be in your situation, i would copy the actual z-way folder and maybe a backup folder to USB.
Backup from the expert UI and from the management UI.
Then clear the z-way installation and install it new from scratch.
Good luck.
Nico

Hi Nico,
Thank you for your response. Honestly, if my company handled customer requests this way we would be out of business in less than a year.
If nothing else helps, I'll follow your advice, do a backup (or rather two; one from the Expert UI and one from the "normal" UI admin) scratch the Raspberry and do a new install. But it seems like throwing a coin in a well hoping for luck. We should not have to resort to that kind of "solutions" to software problems in 2017...
Let's hope Z-wave.me cares about their customers...

We try a lot of posts and work to do simultaneously.
@brusan your problem looks pretty odd. Can you reproduce it easily? If so, can you provide remote access to let us check it?
What is your OS and Z-Way versions? Nothing non-standard?

Re: Server halts and log is filled with "[E] [zway] SaveData
I am currently in touch with your support. I suppose it is issue number 1391 ("Ihre Anfrage (1391) wurde aktualisiert").
The problem is reproducing itself - all day long I'm afraid Nothing out of the ordinary as far as my setup goes. As per above: I'm running the new RaZberry Daughter Card on a Rasberry 3 under Jessie. Latest firmware (v2.3.0).
My impression is that this started when I upgraded the Razberry board from the old one with the small antenna to the newest one. The firmware is v5.04 and it seems impossibe to upgrade it as your support requested me to do. The upgrade seem to run smoothly - but nothing gets upgraded
Yes, I can provide you full access via VNC if you'd like or via browser only if that is better. I'd prefer to detail that via mail But be warned, the logfiles are b-i-g...

BTW, I can't seem to remember the server process eating so much cpu earlier. As you see above in this thread, 20-40% as seen by "top" is common.
As far as uncommon things, I am running a Nexa (Telldus/TellStick) system in parallel with the z-way, but that has been working flawlessly for a year or so.

We have found few potential issues in v2.3.0. We hope very soon to release v.2.3.1 with many stability fixes.
