Windows Error initialising UZB / Firmware Updates and Mhz Issue

Post by brodhomeauto »

Hi

I've installed the ZWay Service and access via Chrome http://localhost:8083/smarthome/

I can not resolve the following message in the settings / Apps page
An unexpected error occurred while initialising the Z-Wave controller data
Log shows = "Cannot start Z-Wave binding: Error: Invalid port"

I've set Z-Wave Network Access app to
Serial port to Z-Wave dongle: \\.\COM5

Windows 10 reports UZB on COM5 in device manager

Any idea what could be wrong?
I've tried some other programs to trouble shoot and the USB stick can be found in Home Assistant or "Z-Wave PC Controller 5" on Windows but I can't seem to get any devices added. The PC controllers appears to get a fair bit of details but nothing I really understand sorry

Thanks in advance

OK I moved to a different USB port and stick seems to be found now on a new port... new problems

1) Was moved to EU Freq... I seem to have resolved that using a couple of posts I found here
2) Firmware updates, I've updated to 05.07 but from what I can see I should be able to update to 5.39 however I just get the message "Your stick uses the latest firmware"

Cheers

1) you can change the frequency in Network Control tab.
2) enter the token "all"

Ok I added all, now I get this. Does it matter the order or just use the latest one?

Do the bootloader and then directly to 5.27

Up dated the boot loader using
2017-05-12 5.7 Update bootloader to 7278 all

After that the option to go to 5.27 is gone, I only have the following options

2018-01-12 5.7 Update bootloader to 9d04 all
2017-05-19 5.7 5.23 Update from 5.7 to 5.23 all
2017-05-12 5.7 5.22 Update firmware from 5.07 to 5.22 all
2017-04-18 5.7 5.7 Update firmware to 3 channels (JP/TW/KR/SG) on 5.07 all
2017-04-18 5.7 5.7 Update firmware to 2 channels (EU/RU/US/ANZ/MY/IL/..) on 05.07 all

I updated the boot loader to the 9d04, the original menu from my post on 06 Feb appears tiwth the 7278 bootloader option and the 5.7 to 5.27 firmware

Is it OK to proceed with the 5.7 to 5.27 firmware update now? I assume I should just use the standard and not the bridged version?

Ok Thanks so far so good. Hopefully this is the last one.

I updated to 5.33 then 5.34 but there is now no further upgrade option (previously it had the option to go to 5.36 but I thought 5.33 then 5.36 would have been better and there seemed to be an error click 5.36)

My only option now is "Update from 5.34 to 5.33 firmware for EU/US/RU/IN/CN/ANZ/BR" but I should update to 3.39?

You need to go back to 5.27 and then to 5.36 and 5.39
