We are now more than a year later, and I still do not have a straightforward means of setting the operating mode of my StellaZ thermostats in a logical rule, scene, or if..then.

We are thinking on best ways to do it. Meanwhile you can use CodeDevice to switch between modes using Z-Wave API.

  • The "mode" essentially is a multiState switch. It just has a few more states than the binary switch. In rules and scenes it could be treated in a similar fashion.
  • I have been using CodeDevice for this in the past year or so. But since I have to manually move/rebuild my installation from RaZberry on Pi B to UZB1 on Pi 2. I had hoped that I did not have to re-create 40 such devices by this time ;)
