Alternative ZDDX Database because pepper is closing down?

Hi, just noticed from time to time, that not all devices descriptions are available for all devices types in zwave-me. When looking at http://www.pepper1.net/zwavedb/ I noticed, that there is a message
"This database is not maintained anymore and will be shut down shortly. Please use the Z-Wave Alliance Product Catalogue as an alternative."

Is there an alternative way of not having everyone to create their own descriptions?
(or maybe using a common with http://www.openzwave.net/device-database ?)

Is there already a plan for the future of getting new devices into the ZDDX-File of zwave-me without having to wait until someone has time?

ZWave>Me developers remained silent on this issue. The suggested Z-Wave Alliance is NOT a 1:1 replacement.
